HEAD OFFICE
Position: Merchandise Analyst
Reports to: Planner
Position Available: Immediately
We are presently searching for a MERCHANDISE ANALYST to be part of our Planning and Allocation team. You will plan and allocate product in order to maximize stores’ sales potential and inventory productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Distributing merchandise based on analysis of trends, evaluation of store performance and customer profiles
- Maximizing stock levels while managing inventory flow and store in-stock positions to improve sales performance
- Analyzing trends and performance and allocating inventory by store, in-season inventory management, store profiles, promotional activity
- Maintaining proper category assortment
- Ensuring sufficient quantities of Advertised product are in stock on a per store basis and recommending purchase quantities to the Buyer
- Working closely with Buyers to understand product mix and assortment
- Communicating with stores and operations in order to learn and understand specific requirements and opportunities
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
- 1-2 years retail experience in merchandise allocation/distribution
- previous general retail store experience
- post secondary education in a related discipline
- excellent MS Excel skills
- strong numbers aptitude
- ability to compile and analyze statistics
- good communication skills and the ability to work in a team or independent environment
- well developed organization skills
- knowledge of JDA distribution and replenishment systems an asset
