Mississauga, ON, December 12th, 2018 – The Bargain! Shop® and Red Apple® stores have wrapped up a very successful Together We Care™ Toy Drive campaign, exceeding their goal and delivering $662,000 in toys to be donated to children's charities across Canada! Every year with generous donations of toys from their Customers, The Bargain Shop and Red Apple stores is delighted to help brighten the lives of children during the Christmas season.
The Toy Drive ended off on December 8th with a successful Fill A Sleigh Day. As part of Fill A Sleigh Day, each store hosted events which often included visits from the local fire and police departments. Customers came together to have fun and Fill A Sleigh with toys for families in need, just in time for the holidays. As part of giving back to the community, Red Apple Stores Inc donated 10% of all toy sales on that day.
The top fundraising communities were Stony Plain AB, Labrador City NL, Goose Bay NL and Carlyle SK which helped support the Kinsmen Christmas Hamper, Knights of Columbus, Rolland Shears Memorial Christmas Hamper Project and Carlyle & Area Toy Drive respectively. “The toys just kept on piling up and we are so thankful to our Customers for their overwhelming support year after year.” said Clinton Wolff, President and Chief Executive Officer. “It was exciting to see sleighs, fire trucks, and police cruisers filled with toys that would be delivered to families to put under the Christmas tree. We are so proud to be part of communities that truly come together to help make Christmas a little more special for children!”
